Lala Septem Riza is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science Education at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. His academic education was obtained at the Department of Mathematics, Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bachelor), Electrical Technology, Institut Teknologi Bandung (master), and Information and Communication Technology at Granada, Spain (Doctoral).

He has been involved in some research and projects, including Software and learning media for autistic students, Data Analysis and Motif Discovery for DNA Barcoding in R Programming, Computational Story-Based Learning Media to Improve Critical Thinking in Algorithm and Programming Courses, Prediction of  Tuberculosis Spread In Indonesia Using Spatial-Based-Machine Learning Method (SLEUTH), Unplugged Computer Science-Based Ethnopedagogy as an Alternative for Computer Science Learning, Homeschool Apps: Integration of E-Learning and Social Media for Home Schooling. Computational Story-Based Learning Media to Improve Critical Thinking in Courses Algorithm and Programming. Popul Dynamic Evolution action of Near-Earth Asteroids in the Inner Solar System using Big Data Analysis, GradDescent and metaHeuristicOpt: R Package as Tools for Data Scientists.

His research interests include Machine Learning, Big Data Analysis, Algorithms and Programming.

Currently, he is active in the organization of the Computer Science Teacher Association (CSTA) and also Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
